Overview This is a hybrid Data Engineer + Data Analyst role that blends data pipeline development, data analytics, business insights, and dashboard/reporting capabilities. The Data Engineer will design and build scalable data pipelines, develop dashboards, analyze complex data sets for insights, and communicate findings to customers and leadership. The role supports IT and Information Security compliance initiatives and enables self‑service reporting across Cloud environments. You will work on a small, collaborative team with the opportunity to add significant value, influence processes, and shape data strategy.
Key Responsibilities Data Engineering & Architecture
Design, build, and maintain scalable, repeatable, secure data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and data ingestion processes.
Develop and optimize data sets, operational data stores, and data marts.
Create real‑time and batch ETL processes aligned with business needs.
Perform logical data modeling and implement physical data structures.
Conduct design reviews related to code, tables, and database architecture for data warehouse environments.
Analytics, Insights & Storytelling
Analyze data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive improved Cloud IT and IS compliance.
Translate complex analysis into business‑readable insights and actionable recommendations.
Communicate findings to customers and summarize key messages for leadership using strong business storytelling skills.
Serve as a trusted advisor to data consumers, helping identify data problems and guide issue resolution.
Dashboarding & Reporting
Build and maintain dashboards using PowerBI and Tableau to enable customer self‑service compliance insights.
Lead the development and refinement of reports, KPIs, and analytics visualizations.
Assist less experienced staff (as needed) in data visualization best practices.
Workflow Automation & Business Processes
Build workflow automations using Microsoft Power Automate.
Support development of new processes, standards, and operational plans for the team.
Documentation & Governance
Document data flows, data models, data quality standards, pipeline processes, and security/access requirements.
Maintain a query library for recurring data requests.
Ensure data security, quality, and reliability standards are followed across systems.
Day-to-Day Expectations
Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide status updates.
Create and work Agile stories aligned with product features; escape issues appropriately.
Support business‑as‑usual rotation tasks (customer notifications, report development, peer reviews).
Share knowledge proactively and contribute to a collaborative, professional team culture.
