What You Will Get to Do The Sentinel program has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer (Level 2) / Principal Systems Engineer (Level 3) to join the team supporting activities including use case development, requirements definition / allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification & validation, and requirements traceability.

Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts.

Work with both technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature architecture content of large program design.

Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure that they are properly represented in the model.

Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical).

Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis.

Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes (for model development, tool integration, and team integration).

Standard work schedule is 9/80. Position can be hired at the Systems Engineer or Principal Systems Engineer level depending on qualifications.

Basic Qualifications

Systems Engineer (Level 2): Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of experience; or 0 years with a master’s degree.

Must be a U.S. citizen with an Active DoD Secret Clearance with investigation within the last 6 years.

Must be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances within a reasonable time.

1 year of experience developing or reviewing requirements within DOORS or a similar tool.

1 year of experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) or complex aerospace/defense systems.

1 year of experience with leadership responsibilities in team environments.

1 year of experience creating, updating, and maintaining system performance documentation.

Principal Systems Engineer (Level 3): Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of experience; or 3 years with a master’s, 1 year with a PhD.

Must be a U.S. citizen with an Active DoD Secret Clearance with investigation within the last 6 years.

Must be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances within a reasonable time.

2 years of experience developing or reviewing requirements within DOORS or a similar tool.

2 years of experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) or complex aerospace/defense systems.

2 years of experience with leadership responsibilities in team environments.

2 years of experience creating, updating, and maintaining system performance documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.

Understanding of the Systems Engineering V‑Model.

Experience in SysML or UPDM modeling languages.

Proficiency with DoDAF, UAF, or other modeling frameworks.

Experience with scripting and coding languages such as Python.

Experience with Agile Development.

Experience with ICBM weapon system sustainment engineering and integration.

Salary Information Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300 – $131,400. Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400 – $163,200.

Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, including scope and responsibilities, candidate’s experience, education, skills, and market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long‑Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays, and PTO for vacation or personal business.
