About Submer Submer enables sustainable digital infrastructure by providing cutting‑edge liquid cooling solutions for data centers. Our technology is designed to reduce environmental impact while improving performance and efficiency. We are a purpose‑driven company with a passion for innovation and a growing global presence.

What Impact You Will Have We’re looking for a Systems Engineer / Architect to define how MEP systems come together at a full data center level. This role sits at the intersection of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design and the broader facility architecture. You’ll map out how the various MEP modules function, interact and depend on each other, and how they integrate with the building, critical infrastructure, and operational workflows. You’ll work closely with mechanical, electrical, controls and architectural teams to drive system‑level decisions from early concepts to commissioning. This role reports to the Director of Engineering.

What You’ll Do

Develop and own the system‑level architecture for MEP modules across power, cooling, plumbing, controls, and support utilities.

Define how individual MEP subsystems connect, communicate and operate as a coordinated whole within a data center environment.

Produce integration diagrams, interface definitions, system block diagrams, sequence‑of‑operations and dependency maps.

Lead cross‑discipline coordination sessions to ensure mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural and architectural teams are aligned on system interactions.

Evaluate space planning, equipment placement, routing and constructability for MEP system integration.

Identify upstream and downstream dependencies between systems like cooling, electrical distribution, life safety, controls and monitoring.

Support design reviews, risk assessments, FMEA sessions and system readiness checks.

Review technical submittals, vendor packages and modular system layouts to verify compatibility with the overall facility architecture.

Support site evaluations, construction coordination, equipment testing and commissioning from a system‑integration perspective.

Help improve internal standards for system diagrams, interface documentation and integration guidelines.

Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and cross‑functional teams.

What You’ll Need

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Systems Engineering (or related field).

8+ years of experience in MEP systems engineering, systems architecture or multi‑disciplinary integration roles.

Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems used in mission‑critical facilities, especially data centers.

Experience developing system diagrams, integration documents and multi‑disciplinary interface specifications.

Familiarity with industry codes and standards (ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA, IMC, IPC, etc.).

Proficiency with design and modeling tools such as AutoCAD, Revit or similar platforms.

Experience in construction‑phase coordination, site walkthroughs and commissioning support.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines.

Ability to lead or mentor junior engineers and support collaborative design processes.

What We Offer

Attractive compensation package reflecting your expertise and experience.

Medical Insurance Plan.

401(k) Employee volunteer contribution Plan.

A great work environment characterized by friendliness, international diversity, flexibility, and a hybrid‑friendly approach.

You’ll be part of a fast‑growing scale‑up with a mission to make a positive impact, offering an exciting career evolution.
