Opportunity Overview Tax Analyst - Contract 6-Months.
Minneapolis, MN - Hybrid Role (3 Days in Office). Must live within a drivable distance of Minneapolis, MN for this hybrid role. No Per Diem or Relocation Offered.
Your Day-to-Day Perform property and sales/use tax reporting, analysis, and accounting by applying data analytics and technology resources.
Essential Responsibilities
Property and Sales/Use Tax Compliance – Complete the accurate and timely filing of property and sales/use tax filings per statutory requirements. Prepare tax payments and reconcile tax bills and GL accounts. ~3,000 property tax bills per jurisdiction.
Data Analysis and Technology – Gather and process data from external sources required to meet statutory and analytical reporting needs of the property tax reporting system.
Implement Technical Amendments and Conduct Transaction Research – Implement tax statutes, regulations and rules to ensure conformity with authorities. Perform research on existing transactions to confirm taxability decision.
Accounting and Forecasting – Complete accounting and forecasting related to property and sales/use taxes in compliance with GAAP, regulatory, and Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements.
Tax Audits – Help administer audits, applying data analysis and technology resources; negotiate resolution of issues.
Help plan and research projects and all other responsibilities as apparent or as assigned.
Requirements Who You Are:
Experience: 4–6 years in tax-related roles.
Education: Bachelor's in accounting or economics preferred (flexible for contractors).
Excel Skills.
Preferred Background
High-volume processing experience.
Utility, telecom, or railroad industry experience (nice-to-have).
Large corporate/matrix environment experience acceptable.
You Should Be Proficient In
Bachelor's Degree.
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Tax Preparation.
