South Orange, NJ (Essex County)
Schedule:
Full-time, Sunday‑Thursday (2:00 pm‑10:00 pm)

About Our Program Since 1948, Easterseals New Jersey has supported people with disabilities, providing daily living support and community‑based programs for individuals with mental health conditions. Our services teach life skills through instruction and real‑world experience.
What You’ll Do The Residential Counselor supports group home residents with daily living activities, delivering high‑quality services to help consumers achieve measurable outcomes per Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRP).
Key Responsibilities
Support consumers in personal care goals and ongoing challenges.
Educate consumers on medications, maintain logs, conduct monthly audits.
Coordinate services based on individual needs.
Transport consumers using the company van as needed.
Deliver high‑quality care in line with IRP.
Accurately document services within required timeframes using electronic health records.
Who You Are
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in mental health, psychology, sociology, social work, human services or related field from an accredited institution.
Or one or more years of college plus related life/work experience equal to four years.
Or high school diploma or GED + four years of related work/life experience.
Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
