Recovery Support Specialist (CPC Certification Required) - Kirkland, WA (Full-Time, Days)
Recovery Support Specialists (RSS) provide individuals with the natural supports proven instrumental in maintaining a strong and successful recovery. The RSS works in conjunction with multiple disciplines to meet individuals’ treatment and recovery needs.
Our team combines medical and recovery‑oriented treatment to stabilize individuals in crisis and connect them to community‑based resources for ongoing recovery.
Shift Differential Compensation
$2/hr shift differential (Monday‑Thursday Nights)
$3/hr shift differential (Friday‑Sunday Nights)
$2/hr shift differential (Saturday‑Sunday Days)
Responsibilities
Acts as an active facilitator (or co‑facilitator) in groups and individual recovery. Serves as an individual advocate and support resource throughout the treatment process.
Works to lessen the instance of seclusion (if applicable) and restraint by building therapeutic alliance and exercising trauma‑informed care.
Demonstrates knowledge of community resources to help meet individuals’ unique recovery needs. Implements knowledge of multiple paths of recovery and promotes them equally.
Works cohesively with a multi‑discipline team through all aspects of individual’s treatment and recovery.
Documents all encounters with individuals in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Encourages and supports from a place of understanding and willingness to use appropriate self‑disclosure.
Assists the transport team with patient transportation, ensuring safety and support during transit as needed.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certified Peer Counselor (CPC) certification required.
Registered with Washington State Care Authority.
Must be able to perform Safe Clinch restraint techniques.
Individuals with lived experience in behavioral health recovery or the parent/guardian of a child with lived experience, 18 years or older, and in behavioral health recovery for at least one year.
Mandatory vaccination policy: All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated with documentation or have an exempt status per the company's exemption process prior to start date.
Complete all credentialing requirements within the required time period, including but not limited to obtaining a National Provider Identifier (NPI), Medallion enrollment, Medicare enrollment, and any other necessary credentials.
Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Card for the State of Washington (BHS/RSS positions).
Preferred Qualifications
CPS (Certified Peer Support) Certification (will be required 07/2026).
Three or more years of personal recovery desired.
Behavioral Health/Substance Use Treatment or GMA Recovery experience.
Completion of Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) CPC 40‑hour training and exam.
Completion of specialized peer certifications (WHAM, ASIST, etc.).
Knowledge of evidence‑based/person‑centered skillsets such as Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care, Verbal De‑escalation, Harm Reduction, and Person‑centered language.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
