This is an hourly position with Local 475 supporting the clean, safe, and compliant handling of waste and wastewater at Chromalloy’s facilities.

Job Responsibilities

Waste management: proper containment, labeling, staging, and storage of hazardous and non‑hazardous waste streams in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., RCRA).

Operate forklifts to safely transport waste materials and containers.

Coordinate waste pickups and shipments, ensuring proper documentation and regulatory compliance.

Perform required waste management inspections and provide metrics for required reports.

Industrial wastewater: operate and maintain the on‑site wastewater treatment system, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with regulatory discharge limits.

Record daily system checks, flow rates, pH levels, and chemical dosing; prepare and submit information for required reports.

Maintain accurate inventory of wastewater treatment chemicals and order supplies as needed; conduct daily visual chemical bulk inspections.

Fume scrubber monitoring: conduct daily checks on fume scrubber systems, ensure proper chemical dosing, monitor and log pH levels and chemical feed operations, and maintain adequate inventory of scrubber chemicals.

Maintenance in wastewater: perform routine preventative maintenance on wastewater treatment systems, troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions, monitors equipment logs, service records, and maintenance schedules, conduct routine inspection and calibration of monitoring devices, and monitor and replace filters, gaskets, tubing, and fittings as needed.

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS):

Conduct routine inspections of eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, fire control valves, spill kits, etc.

Support day‑to‑day activities, including audits, safety walks, and incident response activities.

Assist with EHS documentation, training support, and incident response activities as needed.

Assist with Velocity Hazard ID closures and follow‑up.

Participate as EHS representative in TPM, CI, and Kaizen events.

Physical & Environmental Requirements: lift and work in environments exposed to industrial chemicals, fumes, and noise; wear required PPE (gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, protective clothing); work both indoors and outdoors in variable weather conditions.

Minimum Position Requirements

Obtain and maintain RCRA (annual) and DOT (every three years) certification.

Forklift and man‑lift certification.

Lockout‑Tagout training.

Confined Space training.

Proficiency in MS Office and data entry in computer programs.

Previous experience with chemical management preferred.

Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing).

High‑school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum Physical Requirements

Minimum lift floor to waist – 25 pounds.

Minimum lift waist to shoulder level – 25 pounds.

Minimum pull – 40 pounds.
