Director, Strategic Sourcing – IDEX Health & Science, LLC

Report to Vice President, Supply Chain. Location: One of IH&S North America sites.

Scope of the role The Strategic Sourcing Director is a Supply Chain partner to enable profitable growth by leading and managing all aspects of our sourcing. The position is a hands‑on leader, helping develop best‑in‑class strategies and processes that align customer needs to the optimal global supply network that improves efficiencies, cost, working capital, and risk mitigation. The leader is a visionary in supply chain, a consensus builder, and an integrator of people and processes, collaborating across business units to affect positive change.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Overview

Utilize 8020 tools to actively reduce supplier and supply chain complexity

Design and implement global commodity management strategies to decrease risk, increase OTD, and deliver a minimum of 3% YOY cost reduction, while meeting working capital goals

Develop overarching global Supply Chain strategy and network design for IH&S – ensuring significant focus on customer expectations to achieve growth targets

Lead and manage projects related to sourcing changes, working with cross‑functional teams to ensure effective implementation.

Develop and monitor KPIs, measuring all aspects of cost savings, supplier effectiveness, and process adherence across multiple business units

Oversee the team of Commodity Managers, developing, training, and coaching team members to high levels of engagement through the company values of Trust, Team, and Excellence

Ensure successful negotiation of all major spends and procurement agreements

Establish Strategic Supplier Management Processes and lead the relationships/partnerships with all critical suppliers

Lead the development of suppliers to ensure they exceed Corporate, regulatory, and legal requirements

Drive results with a sense of urgency and diplomacy through superior change management techniques

All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Operations preferred, or equivalent work experience

Minimum 10+ years of progressive ERP and procurement experience, or equivalent

Must possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Must possess tactful written communication and presentation skills.

Strong knowledge of negotiation and supplier agreements

Ability to develop presentations, and present in front of internal/external audiences, up to executive levels.

Demonstrated experience identifying and onboarding strategic supply partners.

Strong quantitative capabilities and adept at drawing conclusions from a variety of data sources.

Successful management of cross‑functional teams to perform process analysis, improvement, and implementation across a multi‑site scope.

Exceptional analytical, creative, technical project management and interpersonal skills, along with an intense customer focus.

Experience leading by influence and success in being a driver of change in an organization.

Highly goal and result oriented.

Ability to prioritize tasks according to business objectives and can pursue several objectives simultaneously.

Must work independently with a high degree of self‑motivation.

Effective listening skills with the ability to hear attentively and process information correctly.

Ability to teach, coach, & develop others at all levels of the organization.

Other Requirements

Travel: As needed, up to 25%

Must be eligible to work in the United States

Total Rewards Compensation range: $152,200.00 – $228,400.00, depending on experience. May be eligible for a performance‑based bonus plan.
