Project Engineer – Land Development Public Works Base pay: $100,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr

As a Project Engineer in our San Diego, CA office, you will collaborate on planning and design activities for site development, roadway and right‑of‑way improvements, hydrology and hydraulics, utilities, and more for public, private, and institutional clients. You will work in a team‑oriented setting, coordinate with clients, sub‑consultants, and internal staff, and interact with agencies to obtain approvals.

Responsibilities

Perform research and due diligence to develop conceptual engineering solutions.

Coordinate with clients, sub‑consultants, and internal engineering, survey, and environmental staff to adhere to project requirements, schedule, and budget.

Transform concept designs into quality construction drawings and technical specifications.

Coordinate the design process while utilizing various software and programs.

Conduct independent engineering calculations.

Prepare technical reports and studies to support engineering design.

Coordinate and process private and public projects with various agencies for planning and design approvals.

Train and coach technical staff and coordinate with them for design efforts.

Self‑motivate to identify necessary project tasks and work in a team environment to achieve completion.

Qualifications & Education

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

Professional Engineer (PE) license in California – or plan to obtain it soon.

5+ years of experience navigating multi‑disciplined engineering projects.

Proficient in civil design using AutoCAD Civil3D.

Strong technical knowledge with proven experience in preparing technical reports, designs, construction documents, specifications, and computations.
