Summary New Venture Research Corporation (NVRC) is a leading provider of innovative technology solutions supporting critical defense programs. We are seeking a seasoned Senior Network Engineer to provide hands‑on, real‑time support in a dynamic environment. This role will utilize deep expertise in Cisco, Dell, and Palo Alto technologies to support a DoD customer. The Senior Network Engineer will design, implement, and maintain robust enterprise and campus network infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls.
Implement and manage VLANs, site‑to‑site VPNs, and end‑to‑end encryption solutions.
Provide expert‑level support for Cisco, Dell, and Palo Alto network devices.
Collaborate with IT leadership to plan and execute network upgrades and expansions.
Mentor and support junior network engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth‑oriented team environment.
Troubleshoot complex network issues and provide timely resolutions.
Bridge on‑premise infrastructure with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Ensure network security, performance, and reliability across all layers of the enterprise.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Strong expertise in Cisco, Dell Networking, and Palo Alto firewalls.
Proven experience with VLAN configuration and management, site‑to‑site VPNs and encryption protocols, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), layer‑2/3 switching.
Experience integrating on‑premise networks with cloud infrastructure.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Experience mentoring or leading junior engineers.
Preferred: Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.).
Preferred: Familiarity with SD‑WAN and Zero Trust architectures.
Required Education, Certifications, and Length of Experience
Bachelors degree in Network Engineering, Information Technology, or similar field (Masters Degree preferred).
CCNA Certification (relevant certifications such as CCNP, PCNSE, Dell Networking, etc. are preferred).
5+ years of hands‑on experience in enterprise network engineering.
Travel Requirements Travel up to 15% is required.
U.S. Citizenship Requirements Due to our contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be U.S. Citizens.
Clearance Type Required Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance, existing active TS with SCI eligibility highly preferred.
