We are seeking a

PRN Collaborating Psychiatrist

to join our team at Blue Ridge Recovery in Ball Ground, GA.

Blue Ridge is an alcohol and drug detox and substance abuse treatment center offering rehabilitation programs for alcohol, heroin, opiate, and prescription drug addiction. Blue Ridge is located on 50 acres in Ball Ground, Georgia, just an hour north of Atlanta. Our center features Georgia’s leading residential drug treatment program designed to help those who are suffering from drug and alcohol addictions and co-occurring mental health disorders. A typical stay at our residential treatment facility is around 36 days.

Overview The collaborating psychiatrist will play a crucial role in partnering with our Nurse Practitioner, offering clinical support, mentorship, guidance, and helping navigate complex cases when needed.

Responsibilities

Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.

Ensure clinical excellence and high standards of care.

Overseeing the care provided by nurse practitioners, ensuring the patient receives the necessary care and treatment.

Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.

Availability for consultation and quality review patient medical records.

Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.

Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.

Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.

One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred.

Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.

Licenses/Certifications

Board certification in psychiatry

Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
