Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator – University of California, San Francisco Job Summary

Under the supervision of Dr. Joel Kramer, PsyD., the Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator will have the opportunity to delve into cutting‑edge research on aging and cognitive decline.

The assistant CRC will participate on a multi-disciplinary research team examining how factors from lifestyle to genetics contribute to the aging process in the absence of neurodegenerative disease. The assistant CRC will contribute to a longitudinal study of over 500 cognitively normal adults, as well as subprojects examining the impact of vascular disease and inflammation on cognition in healthy aging, MCI, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Applicants should have a strong interest in neuroscience, some research experience, comfort working with human subjects, and excellent organizational skills. The candidate will be involved in gathering a wide variety of research data, with particular emphasis on generating datasets and reports based on Qualtrics, running and troubleshooting R code, preparing questionnaires, participating in data collection, and setting up surveys conducted by the PI or CRC.

Responsibilities

Set up surveys conducted by the PI or CRC.

Help with the scheduling/recruitment of participants.

Maintain CHR/IRB documentation and manage day‑to‑day functioning of the project.

Data management and overall project coordination.

Required Qualifications

HS graduation and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Windows.

Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills; excellent organizational skills; and excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse team.

Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑based environment; project management and coordination skills; ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines on concurrent projects.

Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with patients, co‑workers, and physicians.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual – Spanish/English speaker.

Experience working with patients or study subjects.

Experience and interest in elderly populations.

Training/experience in the conduct of clinical research trials in an academic research environment.

Knowledge of CHR/IRB policy and procedure.

Willingness to perform administrative duties.

Salary Hourly rate: $28.48 – $45.80 (subject to UC policy and internal equity).
