Job Description: Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer at Relativity Space

Our vision extends to establishing humanity's industrial presence on Mars, starting with Earth-based design, construction, and flight of rockets. About the Team: The Engine Manufacturing department is dedicated to delivering high-performance products and innovative manufacturing systems, focusing on cost, quality, and lead time improvements. We collaborate across functions to build our reusable rocket, Terran R, providing critical hardware for testing and launch, including hardware for the Aeon-R engines. About the Role: As a Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer, you will oversee the development and production of Aeon-R Nozzle Extension hardware, managing manufacturing processes, and ensuring hardware meets design specifications. You will act as the key liaison between manufacturing and design teams, optimizing hardware development and integrating feedback to enhance reliability and throughput. Your role involves project management across the hardware lifecycle, process development, and recommending design modifications for improved manufacturability. About You: Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience in thrust chamber assemblies or similar hardware Experience in manufacturing processes such as welding, sheet forming, machining, and additive manufacturing Strong problem-solving skills for hardware non-conformances Ability to train and work with technicians Knowledge of assembly, testing procedures, tolerance analysis, and industry standards like GD&T (ASME Y14.5) Preferred Skills: Experience with weld engineering, joint design, process qualification, and NDE techniques Familiarity with forgings and inspection methods Experience in fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environments Track record of managing complex manufacturing projects from concept to early production Relativity Space values transparency and fairness in compensation, which is determined based on experience and qualifications.
