As the HR Director Americas you will be a strategic partner to the Commercial and Service teams while supporting all functions across the region. In this role, youll drive initiatives that strengthen organizational capability, develop top talent, and lead transformative human resources programs that enable growth and engagement across a $250M business.

This position reports to the Global Commercial HR Director and is part of the Leica Microsystems Human Resources leadership team located onsite in Deerfield, Illinois or Waltham, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

  • Partner strategically with Commercial and Service leadership while supporting all functions across the Americas to align people strategies with business goals. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, coaching managers and influencing decisions to drive impactful business outcomes.
  • Drive organizational capability and design initiatives that strengthen leadership and enable growth in a $250M business.
  • Lead talent management efforts, including attracting, developing, and retaining top talent to build a strong pipeline for future success.
  • Ensure flawless execution of core human resources processes, such as performance management, merit reviews, and talent initiatives. Oversee human resources operations and compliance, ensuring adherence to local labor laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Manages and advises on all sensitive matters.
  • Champion change management and transformation, fostering engagement and organizational effectiveness across inclusive teams.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
  • 12 years extensive human resources experience across all human resources functions, including talent management, organizational effectiveness, compensation and benefits, and employee relations.
  • Proven experience supporting global commercial organizations (e.g., sales, service, marketing) and managing human resources in a matrixed environment.
  • Proficiency in human resources systems and tools, including Workday and compliance policy-related platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering and managing complex human resources processes (e.g., performance cycles, merit reviews, sales incentive schemes, restructuring).

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements

Ability to travel up to 20% domestic and internationally per business needs.

Preferred Experience

  • Supporting global commercial organizations (sales, service, marketing) in a matrix environment.
  • Managing and developing a human resources team.
  • Driving organizational design and change management projects.

The annual salary range for this role is $190,000 - $240,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
