Job Summary
The Accounting Manager oversees all accounting functions for a large hotel, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and support for strategic decision making.
Responsibilities
- Maintain system of accounts and controls, providing accurate data for accounting reports.
- Prepare and post daily journals and month-end entries, ensuring efficient month-end functions.
- Assist in the completion of financial statements and management reports in accordance with Corporate Policies.
- Manage month-end balance sheet reconciliations and analysis.
- Provide training and analysis of accounting matters to departments.
- Coordinate and ensure timely issuance of management reports.
- Participate in the creation of strategic plan, and monthly forecasts.
- Manage full accounts payable and general cashiering duties.
- Integrate hotel and accounting technology systems.
- Develop an engaged, enthusiastic, department.
- Recruit, develop, evaluate, and motivate the team.
- Represent the accounting office in the absence of the Controller.
- Contribute to hotel overall leadership and direction.
Qualifications
• 5+ years in accounting or finance, preferably in hospitality.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, hotel accounting, and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency in accounting software and hotel property management systems.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Salary
$97,500 – $117,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
