Assistant Front Office Manager – IHG Hotels & Resorts Job Overview Assist in managing all aspects of the front office areas. Responsibilities include guest registration, bell services, concierge services, business center, telephone services, and guest reservations to ensure guest satisfaction and maximize hotel profitability. Adhere to brand standards, desk merchandising, and serve as Front Office Manager in the absence of the manager. Duties and Responsibilities Assist in managing day‑to‑day activities of the Front Office staff and schedule employees for adequate coverage. Recommend or initiate salary, disciplinary or other staffing/human‑resource actions in accordance with company rules and policies. Ensure staff are trained on systems, security, cash handling procedures and service standards. Ensure guests receive prompt, professional attention and personal recognition; respond to complaints and implement service‑recovery gestures. Schedule and conduct routine inspections of the front office and public areas; create action plans to correct deficiencies. Monitor and control labor costs and expenses; achieve revenue and profitability goals. Maintain procedures for security of monies, credit and financial transactions and guest security. Train staff on PBX procedures to serve as central communications point during emergencies. Promote teamwork and coordinate with Accounting, Revenue Management, Sales & Marketing, Catering, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping and Maintenance. Serve as “manager on duty” as required. Assist staff with job functions during peak periods. Interact with guests, regulatory agencies and community contacts. Accountability This position reports to the Front Office Manager; it is the second in command in Front Office operations at a large full‑service, luxury, resort or flagship hotel. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration or related field. Minimum two years front‑office/guest‑services experience including supervisory experience, or equivalent education and experience. Fluent English; other languages preferred. Ability to frequently stand behind the desk and lift up to 50 lb. Proficiency with property‑management and reservation systems. Strong communication, reading, writing, mathematical and problem‑solving skills.Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays. Other Physical Requirements Standing, walking and occasional lifting up to 50 lb. Use of keyboard and computer systems. Compensation and Benefits Hourly pay range: $25–$28.
