Analyze tasks and establish an appropriate sequence of operationsRead blueprints and job orders for product specifications, number of parts to be machined, material specifications, machining stock, and due datesSet up and operate various CNC lathes Select correct tooling, speeds and feed rates for each operation according to requirements and knowledge of material properties. Verify dimensions of work piece for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, comparators, calipers, dial indicators, and gauge blocks. Check machines for proper maintenance and preparation before starting each jobMachine components to blueprint specifications and stock allowancesOperate computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipmentMust meet speed expectations to ensure productivityQualificationsQualifications: Knowledge and SkillsExcellent blueprint reading, understanding of GD& T, mechanical and math abilitiesAbility to use precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators and comparatorsCommitment to quality, speed and accuracy, and maximizing acceptable product percentagesWillingness to cross train on different equipmentAble to work well independently and cooperatively with teamsAble to communicate effectively with all levelsCommitted to safety, team development, and product and service excellenceAble to comprehend written or verbal proceduresCandidates must be able to work shifts, lift up to 40 lbs., and stand 8-10 hours per day.
