Per diem employees are offered work on an "as-needed" basis. This position is responsible for clerical duties, acting as a unit receptionist, and coordinating unit/patient activities with other departments via computer, telephone, and volte. Maintains an orderly and efficient nursing station related to the Patient Admitting Department and/or ER Department. Performs functions related to registration, admitting, and discharging, including greeting patients and visitors, collecting demographic and billing information according to regulations. Position Requirements High School diploma or equivalent Previous ED unit clerk experience preferred Ability to communicate professionally with staff, physicians, patients, and administrative personnel Excellent computer skills, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with experience in confidential administrative support Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Position Essential Functions General Duties Organizational and multitasking skills Understanding of registration processes and current skills Maintaining accurate computer records Reviewing and updating record-keeping systems Gathering demographic and billing information in compliance with regulations Documentation Maintaining accurate documentation for quality care Ensuring completeness of EMR from preadmission to discharge Documenting and scanning paperwork with date, time, and initials Communication Daily communication with departments for scheduling tests, treatments, and supplies Familiarity with SOPs in ancillary departments Communication with physicians, nurses, visitors, and patients External communication with pharmacies, clinics, and other resources Professional phone etiquette and communication of registration questions Carson Valley Health is recognized as a finalist in the "Best Places to Work" in Northern Nevada for multiple years.
