Estimator has a key role in the preconstruction stage and is responsible for managing from inception to completion the preconstruction process for all projects assigned. The candidate will requires a forward‑thinking, progressive, dynamic leader who has excellent time management skills, with experience in estimating processes and procedures that produce accurate, efficient results. Projects a positive and professional corporate image with clients, potential clients, subcontractors and vendors Perform site investigation activities, if required, and identify additional resources that efficiently supports these types of efforts Schedules all project review meetings, (kick‑off meetings, estimate review meetings, project handoff meetings) Interact with clients through pre‑bid meeting, interviews and presentations Collaborate with Proposal Lead and Business Development lead during proposal preparation Operational Excellence

Actively demonstrates engagement and assumes responsibility for exemplifying Charter’s vision and core values Provide full range of estimating services for profitable projects Recognize deadlines and commit the appropriate personnel resources that ensures timely completion of estimates Estimate jobs with the Company acting as a self‑performing General Contractor or as a Construction Manager Complete estimates on time, in a professional and competitive manner that are accurate and have identified all risk factors for consideration Review specifications and drawings, attend pre‑bid meetings and determine the scope of work, contents of the estimate Organize estimating strategy and approach, and recommend value engineering options Determine and/or prepare a project schedule and assist in technical writing, as required by the bid documents Use relevant additional company resources, such as Project Managers, Superintendents and Foreman Work with other estimators to provide technical support for bids Financial Excellence

Identify and prepare bid documents required for signature and submission with the bid pricing Incorporate historical data from production analyses and file pricing Prepare complete estimates, pricing all work activities and updating file price figures with actual quotations Review all subcontractor and vendor quotes and conditions; communicate with subcontractors and vendors during the estimate process Maintain neat hard copy and electronic files of the estimate backup, including takeoffs, vendor pricing, calculations, pre‑bid communication, solicitations and amendments Review pricing with Chief Estimator and Business Development lead Team Development

Work efficiently and effectively utilize internal and external resources Coordinate resource requirements (quantity take offs, vendor and subcontractor pricing solicitation) with Chief Estimator, administration, junior estimators and outside consultant engineer, if necessary Meet with Chief Estimator to discuss status of bids, upcoming needs, and scheduling Essential Skills and Experience

4 year engineering/construction management degree or equivalent technical and/or related experience Minimum 4 years of estimating and/or construction experience Experience with estimating software (HCSS, On‑Screen, Agtek) Advanced math and computer skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Extensive knowledge of standard industry cost accounting, estimating and project management procedures Ability to estimate all types of projects with varying contract mechanisms Ability to maintain trust and credibility with co‑workers Ability to continually develop personal effectiveness with consideration for communication, self‑awareness, and building trust Ability to be open to positive and constructive feedback as a tool for learning and professional development Ability to create, maintain and support a loyal team that seeks to engage in learning, development, and relationship building Ability to participate in the writing and review of proposal that is associated with the estimate. Additional Skills and Experience

Waterway and Marine Construction Project Experience Estimating Marine self‑perform scopes to include: Mechanical and Hydraulic Dredging, Sheet Pilings, Shoreline Protection, Waterway Scour Protection and Marine Specialties. Pay Range: $100,000 - $125,000
