General Job Description A successful candidate can assemble components and materials efficiently and accurately in accordance with plans and specifications, following written and verbal instructions and drawings. The role involves working with metal cladding, insulation and steel components. The candidate should be skilled in carpentry, material handling, and mechanical assembly and maintain a safe work environment through organization and housekeeping.
Job Responsibilities
Assemble skeleton and square frames
Work with metal and insulation sheeting
Perform material handling, including operation of equipment
Operate all non-specialized shop equipment as well as hand and power tools
Complete all other duties as assigned
Requirements
Experience working in a construction or manufacturing field
Experience working in a carpentry position
Competent in a trade and able to apply these skills to multiple tasks
Selects the proper tool for the tasks and ensures proper operation
Skillful operation of non-specialized shop equipment
Participates in the development of processes for repeatable execution of tasks
Qualifications
3+ years of roofing or carpentry experience is preferred
Metal building and construction installation experience is a plus
High school diploma, general education degree, or vocational degree
Physical Requirements / Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, be able to reach overhead, work in various positions including stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and squatting; handle tools; climb stairs; balance for extended periods; lift, pull, and push material and equipment, including 70 pounds. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This position requires physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities in a primarily production environment.
Compensation $25.00 - $33.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Shift differentials apply for Weekend Shift.
