Revenue Cycle Coordinator – Accounts Receivable CommonSpirit Health

Job Summary In this role you will coordinate activities within the Revenue Cycle, supporting billing processes, denial analysis and stakeholder training across clinic sites.

Responsibilities

Serve as a coordinator resource for other staff in the functional unit and assist supervisors through the transmission of work instructions and participation in planning, development, and implementation of new/revised procedures.

Review work to facilitate efficient workflows and assist supervisors with hiring interviews, staff orientation, and performance feedback.

Respond to emails and calls from team members and leaders in a timely, accurate manner.

Explain various billing issues affecting reimbursement, including billing edits, reimbursement methodology, denial trends, and payer regulations to clinic representatives.

Provide feedback and training to clinic staff based on identified trends in the Revenue Cycle.

Apply knowledge of CMS and other insurance billing guidelines, payer contracts, and reimbursement to gather additional information as necessary.

Identify trends in denials and billing issues and provide resolutions in accordance with established guidelines.

Work collaboratively with payers and revenue cycle staff to explain denial or underpayment issues.

Establish and maintain professional relationships with clinics and staff to resolve issues.

Maintain professional telephone and e‑mail communications.

Depending on role and Epic training, support other areas in the Revenue Cycle.

Communicate audit and production standards and reviews to Revenue Cycle staff to improve proper handling of accounts.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of Revenue Cycle experience.

Knowledge of medical insurance, CPT and ICD codes, payer contracts, and basic medical terminology and abbreviations.

Ability to understand and apply detailed billing requirements and insurance follow‑up practices.

Ability to identify and articulate non‑compliance with established guidelines and/or regulatory requirements.

Ability to troubleshoot and adapt moderately complex written or oral instructions to diverse situations.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical records and use discretion with sensitive data.

Location & Work Environment The position is based at CommonSpirit Health clinics, ranging from primary to specialty care, including walk‑in and virtual services. Clinics provide more than 20 specialties and 100 convenient locations, with some offering extended hours.

Pay Range $19.87 – $28.06 per hour
