Responsibilities
Plan and execute precise dimensional measurements of robotic systems, tooling, and fixtures using laser tracker technology.
Analyze measurement data, identify deviations, and provide actionable insights and procedures to ensure data accuracy and repeatability.
Develop and implement open-loop and closed-loop control algorithms to minimize robot path errors.
Develop, modify, and debug control software for industrial robots
Implement robot programs for tasks such as article manipulation for the purposes of antenna testing, material handling, assembly, and inspection, with a strong emphasis on dynamic path accuracy.
Integrate robotic systems with other automation equipment and sensors such as PLCs, vision systems
Develop user interfaces and data acquisition systems for robot control and monitoring, including tools for analyzing path error data.
Integrate test scripts and other instrumentation automation with laser tracker routines and robotic movement routines.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Robotics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
8-12 yrs years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment
2+ years of professional as a Robotics Engineer or in a similar role with significant exposure to industrial robotics
Proficiency in designing mechanical fixtures using CAD software (Solidworks, Creo, SiemensNX)
Strong programming skills in languages relevant to robot control (e.g., C++, Python, vendor-specific robot programming languages.
Experience with data analysis and statistical methods
Experience with robot simulation
Physical: ability to lift 35 lb, ability to climb 20' ladders (infrequent)
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a relevant field.
Experience with vision systems and their integration with robots.
Knowledge of safety standards for industrial automation.
2+ years professional experience with MATLAB.
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, PROFINET).
