Systems Administrator We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to manage and secure enterprise-level Linux environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in system administration, security compliance, and automation, with a focus on maintaining high availability and security standards in accordance with guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Install and maintain Linux/Unix operating systems, including applying security patches and firmware updates.
Create and manage security groups and enforce access controls.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, coordinate hardware repair activities.
Develop and maintain automation scripts for system administration tasks using shell scripting and Ansible.
Create and update Standard Operating Instructions (SOI) documentation.
Perform routine server/workstation patching per organizational guidelines.
Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions for Linux systems.
Ensure compliance with NISPOM, RMF, and STIG requirements for system hardening and security.
Manage servers in disconnected environments and troubleshoot storage issues with NAS/SAN.
Integrate and manage end-user authentication in mixed environments (NIS & SSSD preferred).
Required Qualifications
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
Hands-on experience with Linux or Unix operating systems.
Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware/software issues.
Ability to create automation scripts for administrative tasks.
Excellent documentation skills for SOI creation and updates.
Desired Skills
Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) versions 6-9.
Administration of VMware ESXi virtual machines.
Proficiency in shell scripting and Ansible automation.
Familiarity with vulnerability remediation tools (Nessus, Trellix, Splunk, SCAP, HBSS).
Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies for Linux systems.
Experience with NAS/SAN storage management and troubleshooting.
Previous exposure to Solaris, AIX, POWER, SPARC environments.
