Senior Applications Engineer John Zink, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is looking to add an Applications Engineer to our team. This candidate will sit in Tulsa, OK.

What You Will Do

Lead formal and informal presentations to facilitate high‑level knowledge sharing around technologies, applications, and operating practices.

Engage in discussions with a global customer base to thoroughly understand their equipment needs and requirements.

Proactively learn and maintain a deep understanding of the key functionalities of the equipment being sold to effectively communicate with customers.

Coordinate closely with the equipment execution team to ensure equipment is designed, built, and delivered in full compliance with customer specifications and expectations.

Estimate project costs and collaborate with internal teams to develop and maintain project schedules that ensure timely delivery.

Collaborate with a diverse, cross‑functional team of engineers, regional sales managers, and related business groups across John Zink and Koch Engineered Solutions to develop creative, technical, and commercial proposals that align with customer needs and clearly demonstrate the value of our solutions.

Follow up with customers and key decision makers to answer questions, address concerns, and actively work to close deals.

Exhibit an entrepreneurial mindset with strong creative problem‑solving skills, continuously looking for innovative ways to meet customer challenges.

Communicate effectively with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure we are delivering superior value compared to alternative solutions.

Apply knowledge of relevant industry standards, including API 535 (Burners) and API 560 (Fired Heaters), to ensure compliance and optimized equipment selection.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Experience with process design or technical sales.

Experience working cross‑functionally with sales and engineering teams.

Experience working in the Petrochemical or Refining industries.

Willing and able to travel 20%, both domestic and international.

What Will Put You Ahead

Five (5) years of applications engineering or technical sales experience in the Petrochemical or Refining industries.

Experience working with a global customer base.

Experience with industry standards, specifically API 535 (Burners) and API 560 (Fired Heaters).

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Technology Engineering, or other relevant technical degree or 5+ years of closely related experience in the combustion industry.
