Neuro Vet, located in Pleasant Hill, is seeking skilled and dedicated Veterinary Technicians to join our dynamic team. Work alongside board-certified neurologists in a state-of-the-art facility, making a difference in the lives of pets with complex neurological conditions.
We are seeking a technician with anesthesia experience and RVT license!
What You’ll Do:
Assist neurologists in diagnosing and treating conditions like seizures, meningitis, IVDD, and post-operative neurosurgical cases.
Perform advanced diagnostics, including MRI scans, and support neurosurgical procedures.
Manage anesthesia, including preoperative planning, induction, monitoring, and recovery for surgical patients.
Monitor physiological parameters (e.g., heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, ECG), and perform pain assessments.
Room clients, obtain detailed histories for routine and emergent cases, and provide clear client education and discharge instructions.
Administer IV catheters, venipuncture, radiography, and constant rate infusions (CRIs).
Run in-house labs and prepare samples for external laboratories.
Perform basic and advanced life support under veterinary supervision during CPR events.
What We’re Looking For:
Registered Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) or 4+ years of clinical experience (specialty, surgery, or anesthesia experience preferred).
Strong technical skills with a keen interest in neurology and anesthesia.
Proficiency in:
IV catheter placement, venipuncture, and radiography.
Calculating drug doses and CRIs.
Anesthetic induction, airway management, and mechanical ventilator use.
Monitoring sedation/anesthesia and recognizing when interventions are needed (e.g., sedation/analgesia, supplemental oxygen).
Pain assessment and post-operative care.
Client communication and education, including discussing treatment plans and costs.
Familiarity with EzyVet and/or Vet Radar software is a plus.
Team player with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with multiple priorities.
