Operations Center Watch Officer

We are seeking an Operations Center Watch Officer to serve as a key member of a fast‑paced, 24/7 U.S. Navy Shore watch center team at the Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC.
This role requires shift work in rotating periods of 6:00 AM–6:00 PM and 6:00 PM–6:00 AM.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Eight (8) years of military experience.
Five (5) years of experience in an operations center, command center, or communications center.
Direct knowledge of, and experience with, Navy Installation Emergency Management or an equivalent program.
Minimum Clearance
Final DoD Secret Clearance.
Responsibilities
Work in an operations center environment.
Develop situational awareness of ongoing events that may affect Navy shore operations.
Provide continuous information sharing, knowledge management, communications, and reporting support through collaborative business processes.
Recognize Commander’s Critical Information Requirements (CCIRs), categorize, and disseminate critical information to the HQ staff, Regional HQs, and installations.
Develop written products for senior‑level customers.
Prepare and disseminate briefings to support the Commander’s decision cycle.
Develop responses and briefings to Request for Information (RFI) from senior, adjacent, and subordinate staff.
Support Crisis Operations Information Management using existing SharePoint tools and all other information systems in the Operations Center.
Maintain and track the status of equipment in the Operations Center.
Handle classified material and maintain an open secret secure space access roster.
Follow local security procedures and support Information Assurance (IA) requirements to ensure the security and integrity of the Operations Center.
Maintain positive access control to the Operations Center.
Deploy as a key Continuity of Operations (COOP) team member.
Ensure compliance with all regulations and policies governing secure communications equipment and procedures.
