About The Role As the

Business Development Director , you will play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence by identifying, negotiating, and managing long-term partnerships with equipment and implement manufacturers, technology companies, and other partners to support Agtonomy’s solution in agriculture and broader industrial markets. Leveraging your extensive experience in deal-making and business acumen, you will drive key deals that accelerate revenue growth, enhance our product offerings, and contribute to the company's long-term success. This position will report directly to the CEO.

What You'll Be Doing

Negotiate partnership agreements, terms, and pricing to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for both parties

Own driving and executing legal agreements, working with internal team members and counsel

Engage with new partners; drafting LOIs, doing all the work needed ahead of establishing broader commercial agreements

Monitor and track KPIs related to strategic partnerships, providing regular updates and reports to the executive/leadership team

Foster long-term relationships with key stakeholders with potential partners, including C-level executives, product managers, and technical teams

Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to establish and grow strong relationships

Create compelling presentations and pitch materials to effectively communicate the value proposition of partnering with Agtonomy

Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify new opportunities and drive innovation within our product offerings

Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including product development, marketing, and sales

Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network, build relationships, and stay informed about market trends

What You'll Bring

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education/work experience

Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in business development, corporate development, or another function requiring deal analysis and negotiation (experience with equipment manufacturers preferred)

Exceptional negotiation, legal documents, communication, and interpersonal skills

Proven track record of establishing and managing strategic partnerships that drive revenue growth

Strong understanding of manufacturer business models, industry trends, and customer needs

Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data to inform decision-making

Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time for business development meetings and events

Highly collaborative mindset and strong communication skills

Data-driven approach to taking learnings from the field to the business

Computer skills and fluency in Google tools, PowerPoint, Slack, and other technology tools

Interview Process Our interview process is generally conducted in three phases:

Phone Screen with People Operations (30 minutes)

Video Interview with the Hiring Manager (30 to 45 minutes)

Panel Interview (in-person interviews scheduled with key stakeholders, each interview 30 to 45 minutes)
