Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for a Cyber Systems Engineer to support the Systems Engineering organization in San Diego, CA. The selected candidate will support Development and Sustainment programs and will identify cybersecurity risks, design, develop, integrate, test, and verify system security solutions. The candidate will identify cybersecurity risks, work with stakeholders to develop a technical and programmatic plan for remediation, and drive the incorporation of cybersecurity improvements into the weapon system.
The candidate will leverage leadership skills to engage their customer counterpart and other stakeholders to drive cybersecurity improvements into the weapon system’s posture. The ideal candidate is an experienced technical leader with exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, a highly motivated self‑starter, and a passion for cybersecurity.
Basic Qualifications
Active DoD Secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with at least 12 years of related experience, or Master’s degree in STEM with at least 10 years related experience, or PhD in STEM with at least 8 years related experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.
Experience in several of the following Systems Engineering areas:
Technical planning, system design development, verification and validation, cost and risk, and requirements management.
Preparing, presenting, and leading discussion of system engineering materials during formal program reviews.
Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very complex problems and implement constructive change.
Developing and reviewing requirements and conducting requirements management, including verification and validation.
Experience in at least one of the following Systems Security Engineering areas:
Managing cybersecurity vulnerabilities and working with stakeholders to prioritize and address findings.
Developing processes and standards to ensure the development of secure products.
Assessing systems for cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
Implementing cybersecurity scanning and assessment tools like ACAS or Nessus.
Developing cybersecurity compliance packages.
Primary Level Salary Range: $188,200 – $282,200.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays, and paid time off for vacation or personal business.
