Sr. Staff Software Development Engineer role at Zscaler. This role is hybrid and based in our San Jose, CA office three days a week. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Software Engineering. Responsibilities
Architecting and implementing cloud management automation and orchestration Extending automation of cloud operations, including upgrades and system updates Creating and deploying scalable monitoring systems Performing cloud operations, deployments, on-call support, and incident management What We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems Experience with C, Java, GoLang, Python, Terraform, Temporal, Ansible, Python automation, networking, Kubernetes, AWS, and GCP Understanding of web security and protocols including HTTP, SSL/TLS, DNS, SQL, and networking fundamentals Experience in observability, building dashboards, solid understanding of SLI/SLO, error budget, and familiarity with Grafana DevOps skills across CI/CD, SCM, Builds and Releases, Continuous Integration tools and frameworks What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Knowledge of Cloud Architecture and Services and Automated Deployments Ability to resolve escalations and help prevent recurring incidents through process, monitoring, and reliability improvements Development experience with large-scale distributed operational tools Salary and Benefits
Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits. Base Pay Range $154,000 - $220,000 USD Benefits
