Job Description

Teledyne is seeking a Principal Systems Architect to lead cross-disciplinary product definition and system architecture for advanced microelectronic solutions, PCB modules, and subsystem-level designs supporting space, defense, and high‑reliability applications. This role combines deep technical expertise with market insight and customer engagement skills, enabling Teledyne to deliver differentiated, high‑performance systems that meet the demanding requirements of next‑generation missions. What You'll Do

Lead the design, analysis, and definition of system architectures at the integrated circuit (IC), PCB, and subsystem level. Apply deep experience in radiation effects on electronics to architect robust systems for space and other harsh environments. Define system‑level trade studies, partitioning, and performance optimization for advanced mixed‑signal, digital, and RF assemblies. Ensure designs meet all qualification, reliability, and manufacturability requirements consistent with aerospace‑grade standards. Drive design‑for‑reliability and design‑for‑testability strategies across the product life cycle. Lead product definition and strategic product ideation aligned with Teledyne’s technology roadmaps. Conduct competitive assessments, market analysis, and pricing strategy development. Collaborate with executive leadership to establish business cases and go‑to‑market strategies. Serve as a technical and product ambassador—presenting and promoting solutions to key customers. Conduct voice‑of‑customer (VoC) engagements and define Statements of Work (SoWs). Provide technical support and training to customers, sales engineers, and FAEs. Partner with engineering and operations to ensure manufacturability and qualification compliance. Mentor internal teams in advanced system design and customer communication. What You'll Need

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required. Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or MBA preferred. 15+ years of experience in microelectronics, PCB module, or subsystem design for space or defense industries. Demonstrated expertise in radiation effects, derating, and mitigation strategies for space applications. Experience in product management, technical marketing, and competitive positioning. Strong systems thinking with ability to balance performance, cost, and reliability trade‑offs. Deep understanding of component‑ and system‑level qualification standards. Exceptional communication and presentation skills. What We Offer
