Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced

Senior Azure Data & Analytics Engineer

to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a deep expert in the Microsoft Azure Data Platform, responsible for designing, building, and optimizing next‑generation data warehousing and analytics solutions. This role is critical for transforming raw data into high‑value, AI‑ready assets, ensuring data quality, performance, and accessibility for business intelligence and machine learning applications.

Required Skills

Agile Delivery: Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced agile environment.

Design and Optimization: Architect, build, and maintain highly scalable and fault‑tolerant ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Synapse Pipelines.

Data Warehousing: Lead development, maintenance, and performance tuning of the data warehouse within Azure Synapse Analytics, managing dedicated SQL pools for petabyte‑scale data.

Modeling: Apply expert knowledge of dimensional modeling (star and snowflake schemas) to create robust, clean, and efficient data models.

Semantic Layer: Develop optimized semantic layers and consumption models for reporting and visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau.

AI Readiness: Collaborate with data scientists to implement data preparation, cleansing, and feature engineering for AI‑ready data assets.

Data Transformation: Utilize expert‑level T‑SQL skills to write, optimize, and manage complex queries, stored procedures, and functions for large‑scale data transformation and loading.

Data Ingestion: Establish and manage efficient ingestion strategies for diverse, high‑volume sources into Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2).

Desired Skills

DevOps: Experience with Azure services such as Azure Functions, Azure Key Vault, Azure Repos and Azure DevOps for CI/CD.

Language Proficiency: Proficiency in Python or Scala for advanced data processing tasks, and experience with JavaScript, C#, or PowerShell.

Platform Development: Development experience with the Azure Power BI Service.

Data Sources: Experience using SharePoint Libraries and Lists as data sources.

Advanced Concepts: Understanding of development concepts such as parameterization and metadata‑driven development.

Reverse Engineering: Proficient in reverse engineering other developers’ work.

Professional Competencies

Customer Focus: Ability to collaborate and communicate with customers to identify requirements.

Self‑Management: Manage and prioritize own tasks, providing status updates.

Leadership: Lead, move, and drive work along while removing development roadblocks.

Education Bachelor’s in a Technical Discipline – Computer Science, Mathematics, or Data Science.

Credentials Microsoft Azure Data Engineer certification.

Years of Experience 5+ years of experience or more.

Clearance Ability to obtain Public Trust High required.
