Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer (DevOps Engineer) focuses on integrating a variety of software components in a secure container architecture, debugging critical issues, and migrating containerized workflows from platforms such as Docker Swarm and Kubernetes to OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
Only candidates with TS/SCI clearance and CI Poly are considered for this position.
Responsibilities
Development of CI/CD build and deployment pipelines
Write/modify Jenkins‑based Groovy scripts
Write/update CloudFormation scripts
Troubleshoot pipeline issues across Jenkins and AWS environments (Linux EC2, RDS, CloudFormation, Elasticsearch Service, etc.)
Document key features for developer use
Help write and maintain scripts for process improvements (ex: stage/unstage builds, branch tag automation, automating variance corrections across networks)
Help automate the transition from a release 1 ‘installation’ mindset to a release n+1 upgrade mindset
Integrate tools into the pipeline
Work with development teams to bring new microservices into the pipeline and troubleshoot as necessary
Work through steps to automate installations of COTS products into the architecture
Debug integration issues
Help identify deployment issues (e.g., intermittent connectivity issues from an API server to the database)
Monitor AWS services and help develop scripts to ensure everything functions as necessary
DevOps tool integration (SonarQube, Fortify, Jenkins, Robot Framework/Selenium, Artifactory, etc.)
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree and 9 years of relevant experience OR a master’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience OR a PhD with 4 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may substitute for the degree requirement
Experience working with Linux environments
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash and Python
Experience with OCP or a similar container environment
Understanding and willingness to work in a DevSecOps‑oriented environment with an infrastructure‑as‑code mindset
DoD IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CISSP, etc.)
TS/SCI clearance, CI poly
Desired Skills
Basic understanding of an object‑oriented programming language, preferably Java
Experience with developing, deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting cloud‑based software solutions
Experience integrating Jenkins and Docker for automated CI/CD pipelines
