Base pay range $150,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr
OCT Consulting is a business management and technology consulting firm that provides support to Federal Government clients. We provide consulting services in the areas of Strategy, Process Improvement, Change Management, Program and Project Management, Acquisition/Procurement, and Information Technology.
Responsibilities OCT currently has an opening for a Cloud Architect and Infrastructure Lead (CAIL) to work with our federal client. The CAIL will be the lead designer and manager of the cloud and data infrastructure that hosts the agency's digital enterprise. This role will be critical for delivering a high‑availability, scalable platform within AWS GovCloud capable of supporting outreach and engagement services and meeting DoD performance requirements.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities
Design, implement, optimize, and manage information systems, applications, networks, and storage solutions within agency's Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud and digital environments
Provide a high‑availability, scalable system architecture, leveraging tools for IT management and proactive cybersecurity measures
Ensure the IT infrastructure supports the primary objective of O&E operations to function properly
Ensure operational excellence of the agency's IT enterprise in AWS GovCloud
Support 24 hours a day, seven days a week (24/7) operation throughout the year for the IT infrastructure
Utilize Agile development methodologies during all phases for the development of new technology and refresh or enhancements of existing technology
Provide technology solutions that are driven by user‑centered design principles
Management of large teams of IT and cybersecurity personnel
Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen (Required)
Active Top Secret Clearance / Favorably Adjudicated Tier 5 Investigation (Required)
Must be in the National Capital Region and available to support on‑site as required (Required)
A bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, information systems, or a related field (Required)
6+ years of experience in DoD or Federal IT Architecture and / or Infrastructure (Required)
5+ years of experience in AWS GovCloud architecture and infrastructure support (Required)
5+ years of experience supporting cloud architecture and infrastructure in DevSecOps and Agile development environments (Required)
Possess one of the following certifications: CGRC, Security+, CISM, CISSP, CASP+, GSLC (Required)
Preferred
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
Deep understanding of cloud operations and cybersecurity compliance within a DoD environment (e.g., AWS GovCloud, ZTA, NIST RMF)
Expert knowledge of DoD CC SRG Impact Levels (IL) 2, 4, and 5. Demonstrated experience with cloud security postures in AWS GovCloud
Experience with high‑availability and disaster recovery planning for 24/7 operations
