Position Summary As a Rare Disease Sales Consultant, you will implement sales and marketing plans to maximize distribution and market penetration of LEO Pharma Dermatology products within the greater San Diego and Ocean County, CA territory. The role requires conducting business with key medically complex dermatology clinics and targeted providers such as IONS, infusion centers, NPs, PAs, and allied healthcare professionals. You will be a subject‑matter expert in complex reimbursement structures and the ultra‑rare patient and prescription journey, responsible for sales activities in teaching and community health systems.

This field‑based role may require overnight travel and occasional nights and weekends for dermatology meetings and conferences.

Your Responsibilities

Utilize exceptional product knowledge and highly effective selling skills to influence target healthcare professionals to support the use of LEO Pharma products.

Serve as a consultative partner and subject‑matter expert in the rare disease patient and prescription journey, including HUB services and access and reimbursement of specialty care products.

Execute brand strategies and business plans to ensure a consistent company sales and marketing message.

Communicate and collaborate with internal cross‑functional teams.

Develop pre‑call plans to meet dermatology health‑care professionals’ (HCP) needs and account requirements.

Build valuable discussions around HCP and patient needs and opportunities.

Foster HCP network development and communication, including infusion center networks, with accurate and timely follow‑up discussions with all HCP stakeholders.

Maintain ongoing trust with HCPs as relationships develop.

Excels at using appropriate LEO Pharma sales training techniques which support and encourage technical exchange of scientific knowledge and dialogue, thereby providing enhanced value to the HCP through facilitation of individual patient management and therapy decision‑making.

Provide expert analysis of territory information to optimize HCP stakeholder calls and monitor local market conditions for changes that impact business at the territory level.

Use VEEVA and other BI tools to plan activity, monitor literature use, and maintain account and HCP records.

Lead by example through timely completion of all sales training requirements (including LOS) and administrative assignments.

Manage territory budget supporting development of regional and territory thought leaders, innovators, and advocates for LEO Pharma products.

Determine efficient utilization of regional and national speakers and other company resources, working pro‑actively with ABO, and provide appropriate feedback and follow‑up.

Provide consistent, timely, and complete administrative duties and responsibilities, including all expense reports, call reports, and communications.

Your Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Minimum of 5 years of successful pharmaceutical sales experience.

Minimum of 3 years rare disease specialty care experience required, OR 8 years successful pharmaceutical sales experience with demonstrated understanding of the complex specialty care selling model and the typical rare disease patient journey.

In‑depth understanding of economics and reimbursement across all settings and evolving specialty distribution and patient support services.

Experience in rare or ultra‑rare orphan drug launches, specialty pharmacy distribution, buy‑and‑bill, infusion therapy, and medically complex dermatology strongly preferred.

Expertise in learning principles with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex data to targeted customers and leverage the customer‑centricity model when developing business plans.

Working knowledge of the PhRMA guidelines and other regulatory statutes (e.g., POMA, Sunshine Act) that affect pharmaceutical promotion and ensure compliance with all BI policies and procedures.

Strong communication skills to translate key scientific information supporting product, competitors, science, and marketplace to a broad range of customers.

Ability to travel overnights and attend some weekend programs.

Compensation & Benefits The base salary range for this position is $145,000–$200,000 per year. Salary will vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, and performance. Certain roles may be eligible for commissions/bonuses based on company and/or individual performance.
