Senior Mechanical Estimator
CRB, a leading engineering consulting firm specializing in life sciences and food & beverage manufacturing, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator to develop accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems across complex projects. The role requires strong analytical skills, deep mechanical systems knowledge, and expertise in managing cost databases to ensure precision and consistency in estimating practices.
Location & Compensation Dallas, TX – Salary range: $85,000.00 – $100,000.00. Full‑time – Mid‑Senior level.
Responsibilities
Develop detailed Mechanical discipline estimates for all project phases.
Interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and design documents.
Collaborate with design teams and project managers to validate scope and pricing.
Maintain and manage cost databases (Sage, Trimble, etc.) for Mechanical disciplines.
Evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals for accuracy and compliance.
Provide input on constructability and value engineering opportunities.
Support risk analysis and contingency planning for Mechanical estimates.
Ensure adherence to company standards and client expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
7+ years of experience in mechanical estimating within industrial or commercial construction.
Proficiency in estimating software and cost databases (Sage, Trimble, or similar).
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, codes, and industry standards.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or advanced manufacturing projects.
Familiarity with BIM tools and integration with estimating platforms.
Advanced Excel skills and ability to develop custom estimating templates.
Professional certifications (e.g., ASPE, AACE) are a plus.
