Overview Environmental Services Tech responsible for daily cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and common areas in compliance with healthcare cleaning principles, infection control guidelines, and safety standards. Demonstrates safe chemical handling and equipment operation; participates in department performance improvement initiatives focused on patient experience and cleanliness metrics.

Responsibilities

Complete daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and common areas as assigned.

Adhere to organization safety, risk management, and infection control guidelines; promote a culture of safety.

Manage supplies, equipment, and waste disposal according to established protocols; ensure adherence to infection prevention and safety guidelines.

Collaborate with the team to perform facility tasks and resolve issues effectively using critical thinking and personal accountability.

Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives, including those focused on patient experience and cleanliness metrics.

Job Requirements

Required

Ability to explain orally or in writing the differences between levels of disinfection and perform intermediate level disinfection where required

Knowledge and skills in using power equipment, conventional and high-speed floor machines, carpet cleaning equipment, wet/dry/power vacuums, and push sweepers

Ability to operate necessary equipment/machines

Proficiency with computers and mobile devices

Respectful listening and effective communication, fostering a collaborative environment

Ability to work without close supervision

Preferred

High School diploma or GED

Previous healthcare experience

Pay Range $21.66 - $30.99 /hour
