About The Role We are seeking qualified, confident, and collaborative Entry‑Level Engineers to join our HVAC and Plumbing & Fire Protection departments in our Boston office. This is an exciting opportunity to launch your engineering career with a firm known for innovation, mentorship, and technical excellence.
As an Engineer at JB&B, you'll work on a wide variety of projects—ranging in size, complexity, and duration—across multiple sectors. You'll collaborate with senior engineers and partners, gaining hands‑on experience while contributing to meaningful client solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Complete tasks on fit‑out, base building, and infrastructure upgrade projects
Assemble riser diagrams, schedules, and floor plans
Assist in planning and coordination of major distribution systems, equipment rooms, closets, shafts, and risers
Review shop drawings and perform site visits and punch lists under senior supervision
Design HVAC systems including distribution, recirculation, and exhaust
Design plumbing systems including water, gas, and waste distribution
Work on facility utilities such as chilled water, heating water, steam, and condensate
Lay out sprinkler systems and perform basic calculations for pipe sizing, design densities, and pump horsepower
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (by Summer 2026)
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Eagerness to learn and grow in a collaborative environment
Interest in building systems, sustainability, and innovative design
