Overview The manager will work with other State and Local Tax professionals on all phases of state and local tax compliance, consulting, and planning services for clients.

Major Responsibilities

Review income, franchise, and other state and local tax returns.

Research and consult on various state and local tax matters.

Utilize tax‑related software to prepare, review, and process returns.

Respond to inquiries from tax authorities.

Review client documentation and related SALT workpapers for accuracy and SALT consulting.

Supervise client SALT engagements.

Develop team members.

Maintain good working relationships with client management and staff at all levels.

Work closely with partners to resolve client matters or tax issues promptly.

Gain understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives, and use that knowledge on engagements.

Attend professional development and training sessions regularly.

Participate in firm practice development activities.

Maintain awareness of industry trends and governmental regulations.

Travel will be required occasionally.

Preferred Experience/Background/Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred) or related field.

Experience in public accounting or corporate tax.

Desire to attain CPA or similar professional designation.

Strong technical skills in state and local income taxes, with ability to use technology effectively.

Excellent supervisory, analytical, and leadership ability.

Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and research abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Working Conditions

Typical office hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Ability to work extra hours February–April.

Minimal travel.

Ability to sit for long periods.

Ability to move throughout office and lift up to 10 pounds.

Ability to communicate with clients, team members, etc.

Colorado, Illinois, and Nevada Salary Statement Salary range displayed is specifically for applicants who will work or reside in Colorado or Nevada. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, market data, applicant skills and prior experience, degrees and certifications.
