TPA’s Group & Student Sales Manager is responsible for outbound marketing to group ticket buyers, providing sales and service to groups, and facilitating TPA’s individual and group student ticketing programs. Responsibilities
Group Sales: Develop group sales campaign materials and strategy. Develop and maintain relationships with group leaders and organizations. Maintain group sales prospect database. Conduct outbound marketing to group sales prospects. Manage the setup, implementation, and communication of promotional code-based group sales offers. Meet or exceed revenue goals for group sales. Communicate effectively between the marketing and ticketing teams to facilitate group sales. Manage relationships with third party group ticketing partners. Coordinate community outreach ticketing initiatives. Student Ticketing: With the education and engagement team, manage the ticketing components of student ticketing programs including: the Bass Pass, ticketing for student groups including UT and K-12 classes, school day performances, and the Heller Awards for Young Artists. Develop campaign materials and strategies for student ticket outreach. Manage the setup, implementation, and communication of promotional code-based student ticket offers. Customer Service: Coordinate inventory required to fulfill group and student tickets. Support group ticket needs for marketing and PR-related promotion and trade initiatives. Manage payment process for group sales orders including deposits and final payments. Communicate know-before-you-go information to group leaders. Coordinate group sales parking, entry and any other special accommodations with the Guest Experience team. Make groups aware of order enhancements such as food & beverage and private spaces. Coordinate fulfillment of order enhancements with the Guest Experience team and other stakeholders. Perform other related functions as assigned. Bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience in the performing arts or entertainment sectors. Interest in and ability to market a wide range live performance, including Broadway, concerts, comedy, theater, dance, and multidisciplinary projects. High level of proficiency with office technology such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Slack, and Zoom. Demonstrated competencies in: Accuracy and Attention to Detail, Effective Communication (written and spoken), Initiative, Interpersonal Relationships, and Problem Solving. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an arts presenting organization; arts producing organization; university-based organization; or multi-venue performing arts organization. Experience in group sales for the performing arts, entertainment, museum, convention, or travel industries. Experience in performing arts or entertainment marketing/sales or ticketing. More than the minimum required level of experience. Interest in and strong commitment to the mission and programs of Texas Performing Arts. Relevant professional education or credentials. Driving Required:
This job requires a driver’s license. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver’s license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Salary Range
$65,000+ depending on qualifications. Working Conditions
This position is 100% on-site at Texas Performing Arts and requires full-time residence in the greater Austin, Texas, area. Repetitive use of a keyboard and telephone at a workstation. Prolonged screen time. Work Shift
Evening, weekend, and holiday work, including on-call times, are required in connection with performances and events. Working shifts may include extended daily hours in connection with performances and events. A compensatory time program is provided. Occasional weekend or overnight travel may be required.
