Civil Engineer – Mission Critical (REMOTE) Stantec invites you to join our Mission Critical Data Center community. This role focuses on Data Center projects across the country for Fortune 10 companies.

Your Opportunity You will be part of a core design team dedicated to serving Data Center clients and similar major commercial programs. Responsibilities include civil site designs, construction plans, and specifications; preparing reports and construction contract documents; performing field observations and coordinating construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Mission Critical core design team, project partners, and other services to develop private civil site designs and construction plans.

Prepare and revise documentation including site plans, grading plans, utility plans, diagrams, and details.

Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members, external consultants, owners, contractors, sub‑contractors, and vendors.

Participate in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.

Assist senior engineers in managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.

Lead the preparation of project specifications and coordination of construction documents.

Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.

Participate in constructability review and conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects.

Assist in developing new standards and specifications for the civil group.

Capabilities and Credentials

Knowledge of National Civil Code and applicable energy codes.

Understanding of all project phases and the relationship between drawings and specifications.

Strong knowledge of civil systems, materials, and industry standards.

Excellent time‑management and project scheduling skills.

Ability to review and ensure accuracy and completeness of work.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Advanced oral and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and design software such as AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, HydroCAD.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering.

Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.

Minimum of 5 years of experience.

Employment Type & Schedule Full‑time, Remote; Travel required.

Pay Range

MN, VT & various CA, NY locations – Min $88,300.00 – Max $128,000.00

CO, HI, IL, MD & various CA, NJ locations – Min $97,100.00 – Max $140,800.00
