What you’ll do
Responsible for engineering the skateboard‑assembly, covering virtual development, testing/sign‑off and manufacturing launch for all Scout all‑electric pick‑up and rugged SUVs.
Responsible for the consistency of the CAD data and the Bill of Material of the skateboard.
Steer suppliers and engineering service providers.
Lead a cross‑functional team of production, quality, logistics and engineering to enable the assembly of the SCOUT‑skateboard platform while fostering a collaborative and high‑performance culture.
Define requirements for the assembly process and enforce them with suppliers and within the SCOUT organization.
Ensure designs conform to safety standards and U.S. government regulations.
Proactively stay attuned to consumer experience and propose system improvements accordingly.
Manage resources efficiently, including infrastructure, finance, supplier partners, and people.
Location & Travel Expectations
This role will be based at the Scout Motors location in Novi, MI and later relocate to Blythewood, SC.
The role requires 4‑5 days attendance in office with in‑person meetings and events regularly.
Applicants should expect the role to require meeting with Scout colleagues in person and traveling to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
What you’ll bring
Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, engineering management, or a related field.
Years of experience required: 5‑8 years in body mechanical areas and relevant automotive assignments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Expertise in CATIA V5 and Teamcenter.
Strong technical and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to lead simultaneous engineering teams.
Good knowledge of MS Office products.
Familiarity with computer‑aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field.
Ability to build strong working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels.
Minimum of High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc.

Initial base salary range: $160,000.00 – $192,500.00
