What You Will Do GFT is looking for a resourceful and engaged Senior Wastewater Engineer, Project Manager who brings strong technical and project management experience to our Water Group in Southern California. You can work from Los Angeles, San Diego, Irvine, or one of our Northern CA offices (Oakland, San Francisco). GFT operates in a hybrid environment with flexible schedules.

As a Project Manager you will leverage your technical and management expertise to plan, design, and construct water/wastewater infrastructure within a dynamic team environment. You will mentor junior staff both in office and remotely, provide business development and project management leadership, and guide integrated teams to meet client requirements related to scope, schedule, budget, and quality. You will also focus on increasing backlog, project revenue, and profitability with both current and new clients.

Participate in and lead project teams in the planning, design, and construction administration of municipal and industrial water and wastewater infrastructure facilities.

Engage in client interactions, deliver presentations, and coordinate project activities.

Coordinate work of technical staff and consultants, including developing and implementing study and design standards, leading progress meetings, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, tracking project schedules and budgets.

Collaborate with and communicate effectively with various municipalities and governmental regulatory agencies.

Oversee construction contract management and observation services.

Prepare technical reports and permit applications.

Supervise and mentor junior-level engineers to support their professional growth.

Demonstrate professional technical writing and verbal communication skills.

What You Will Bring To Our Firm

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. Master’s Degree is preferred.

15+ years of experience in the water/wastewater discipline, particularly as an engineer designing studies, plans, and specifications for water and/or wastewater infrastructure.

California Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

Progressive experience in the evaluation, design, permitting, and construction administration of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, water storage and distribution facilities, and wastewater collection systems.

Proven project management experience, including responsibilities for budget and schedule monitoring and control.

Experience in client relations and business development.

A strong leader and team player with excellent planning and organizational skills.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to deliver effective client presentations and prepare detailed written reports.

Compensation The salary range for this position is $175,000 - $230,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
