About the Job
Reporting to the Senior Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director of Admissions for Events and Campus Visits is the lead admissions professional for the campus experience for students, families, counselors, and all others participating in an admissions event. The Assistant Director (AD) works with the Senior Director of Admissions on strategic planning and budgeting for admission events and campus visits.
This position works in-person in Rochester, MN. This role is not eligible for H-1B or Green Card sponsorship.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manages the planning and execution of all campus visits and recruitment/enrollment events that occur on-campus and virtually.
Establish protocols through the development of an annual timeline and planning manual for each event.
Conduct an annual assessment for program improvement.
Manages the event budget adhering to Enrollment Management team, state and University guidelines to maximize resource utilization and enhance recruitment processes.
Ensures that the Enrollment Management team provides campus visitors with a high-quality, positive and energetic visit experience that is tailored to their needs and provides an experience that encourages an application for admission and ultimate decision to enroll at the University.
Serve as primary liaison with the UMR Events Manager, Facility Manager/Campus Operations & Protections Manager, faculty, and staff to foster cross-functional collaboration and effective logistical execution.
Represents the Office of Admissions and University at major functions to promote the University to a variety of constituents in a positive and professional manner.
Hires, trains and supervises the Admissions Student Ambassadors and other student workers, including developing and mentoring a high-performing team of students who support campus visits.
Serves as the primary point of contact for visitors to the Office of Admissions.
Analyze and report on campus visit activities trends and outcomes to create evidence-based insights and data that inform strategic planning and optimize recruitment efforts.
Evaluates admissions applications for appropriate decisions under established criteria and guidelines.
Qualifications Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
BA/BS degree plus at least four years of relevant experience, or master's degree plus at least two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree
Project management experience.
Experience working in an admission office.
Bilingual.
Experience with Slate and Peoplesoft.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently, efficiently and effectively.
Demonstrated ability at planning and organizing multiple projects and tasks.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize work effectively.
Exceptional presentation skills.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills.
Ability to take direction and execute plans.
Organizational skills with the ability to work with little supervision.

Pay and Benefits Pay Range:
$65,000 - $75,000; depending on education/qualifications/experience
