Registered Nurse, Adult ED, 24 hours (Day/Evening Rotation, Every Third Weekend)
Boston Medical Center (BMC) invites registered nurses to join our Magnet®‑recognized organization, a leading trauma and safety‑net hospital in New England. As an RN in the Adult Emergency Department, you will play an integral role in delivering evidence‑based, patient‑centered care in a level‑one trauma and comprehensive stroke center located in Boston’s South End.
Position Summary
As an RN on our Adult ED team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care, collaborate with an inter‑professional team, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.
Schedule 24 hours (Day/Evening Rotation, Every Third Weekend)
Job Responsibilities
Deliver nursing care in the Adult Emergency Department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
Communicate with health‑care team members, patients, and their families.
Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient‑care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
Update and manage patient records; enter and interpret computerized data.
Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
Assist the leadership team as needed in quality‑improvement projects.
Job Requirements
Licensed to practice professional nursing as an RN in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
1+ year of ED RN experience.
TNCC certification required, or ability to obtain prior to start date.
Basic life support (BLS) certification required.
Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification required.
Diploma, ASN, or BSN preferred; ability to obtain BSN within four years.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
Basic computer proficiency.
Fluency in another language is a plus.
