Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently seeking a

Structures Design Engineer (Level 2 or 3)

to work at our

Renton, WA

location. This is a great opportunity to work in the

Commercial Airplanes Washington Design Center.

The position is expected to be 100% onsite at the Renton, WA facility.

Position Overview In this role, you will evaluate in-service (fleet) performance of landing gear, assess wear and corrosion, and establish a technical basis supporting maintenance and overhaul. You will work with Customer Support Engineering, Operator/Customers, and Maintenance and Repair Organization (MRO) providers. There is potential for international travel. The Landing Gear Design Center is responsible for the full life cycle of landing gears from product development through post-production, across all BGS programs. Assigned work may evolve over time.

Position Responsibilities

Coordinate with Customer Support Engineering, Operator/Customers, and MROs for data collection during landing gear overhauls.

Evaluate data for wear, corrosion, and other damage to determine overall landing gear in-service performance.

Predict landing gear in-service performance for varying overhaul intervals.

Recommend changes in maintenance practices to improve landing gear in-service performance, where necessary.

Work under general direction.

Export Control

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements. A US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications

2+ years of related work experience in design.

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in one of the following engineering majors: Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Civil, or Structures.

Experience with engineering classification such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil or Structural Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of related work experience in design.

Experience preparing and releasing product definition data (PDD), using CATIA V5, PDM ENOVIA, etc.

Experience working with Boeing Factory, Boeing Fabrication Division, and/or producers of parts within the supply chain.

Experience in post-production products/customer support.

Typical Education / Experience Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Shift This is a 1st shift position.

Summary Pay Range (Level 2): $89,250 – $120,750

Summary Pay Range (Level 3): $105,400 – $142,600
