Job Summary The ideal candidate will be familiar with both software engineering best practices and systems engineering best practices. Candidates should be comfortable translating user and management requests into actionable software roadmaps and converting contract verbiage into high‑acuity software architecture. They’ll be instrumental in supporting software and test teams by defining the end‑state of the product and how it interfaces with other systems. This position will develop, refine, and maintain system architecture, software designs, interface definitions, and system models, supporting advanced systems in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Roles And Responsibilities
Define and maintain the overall software architecture for complex systems and applications.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and technologies to improve system performance and scalability.
Ensure security, reliability, and compliance in all software designs.
Conduct architecture reviews and provide guidance on system integration and interoperability.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.
Other tasks as assigned.
Basic Qualifications Citizenship & Clearance:
Must be a US Citizen with active/current Top Secret Clearance or ability to obtain it.
Education:
BS in Computer Science.
Experience:
5+ years of experience.
Technical Skills
Agile Methodologies
Proficiency in at least one backend language: C#, Python, Java, or equivalent.
Javascript, Typescript
UML or equivalents
Jira, Azure DevOps Boards, or equivalents
Docker or Podman
Technical writing skills for ICDs and other architectural documentation
Experience developing microservices in a container‑based environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting government or Department of War (DoW) systems.
Background in full‑stack engineering or development, able to collaborate across infrastructure, development, and QA teams.
Experience creating long‑range roadmaps.
Experience with maintaining software requirements alongside systems engineers and establishing requirements traceability to capabilities.
Experience integrating DevSecOps principles into software architecture.
Compensation Salary Range: $111,825 - $167,790 (Colorado Springs, CO).
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and internal parity.
