Position Summary The FBO General Manager (GM) is an exceptional relationship builder and provides front-line leadership for a world-class customer service and safety-oriented operations team. This role oversees safe activities on the ramp and fosters positive interactions with customers, pilots, passengers, senior staff, and regulatory agencies. The GM will be responsible for the Allegheny County Airport location, drive strong business results for the FBO, and own the Profit and Loss statements for this location. The GM will provide leadership and support to staff while focusing on location development and will implement operational excellence techniques to foster growth and improvement at each site.
Requirements
Responsibilities and Duties:
Full profit and loss responsibilities for the FBO
Provide strong leadership and support
Improve profitability by championing operational excellence, continuous process improvement, and KPIs
Business growth and development
Live, promote, and uphold our standards of service
Ensure department supervisors have resources (staff, technology, training) to achieve goals
Foster a teamwork-oriented, high-performance culture that is customer-focused and safety-minded
Contract review and negotiation (hangar leases, airport sponsor leases, fuel, equipment, and vendor contracts)
Coordinate with Vantage’s senior leadership on budget preparation, variance reporting, and performance aligned with company goals
Assist in development and implementation of processes and procedures
Directly manage all Customer Service, Line Service, and other operational employees
Collaborate with other divisional leaders in aircraft management, charter, and maintenance
Periodically conduct market comparisons to ensure competitive rates
Participate in regular meetings with senior leadership
Train, coach, evaluate, and develop new hire employees per established procedures
Ensure compliance with company training and safety plans (SMS, ERP, etc.)
Ensure adherence to ground lease agreements, service standards (e.g., ATA 103, DLA)
Assist with implementation and certification of FBO certifications as directed by senior leadership
Communicate with customers and employees in person, by phone, and via radio
Promote good housekeeping practices and uniform standards

Work Environment This position operates in a professional environment and may involve exposure to weather conditions and contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft. Depending on daily operations, a large portion of time may be spent outdoors.
Physical Demands The following physical demands are representative of the essential functions of this job: lifting up to 50 pounds; exposure to noise, chemicals, fumes, and machinery; outdoor work in all weather conditions; standing to greet customers and moving around the facility.
Position Type And Hours This is an exempt position. The role may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate customer and employee needs.
Reporting Structure This position will initially report directly to the Chief Executive Officer of Vantage Aviation.
Travel Travel is expected from time to time for industry events, sales opportunities, and new location startup as required.
