Senior Director, Brand Management at Chipotle Mexican Grill What You’ll Do
Brand strategy and positioning: Define and evolve brand architecture, value proposition, and visual/verbal identity; ensure governance across all touchpoints. Translate brand purpose into differentiating guest experiences and culturally relevant storytelling. Annual planning and go-to-market: Lead the annual and quarterly brand plan, inclusive of the promotional calendar, LTO pipeline, pricing/pack architecture, and merchandising. Orchestrate integrated campaigns across paid, owned, and earned channels; ensure local market activation and franchisee alignment. Menu and innovation commercialization: Partner with Culinary/R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to bring innovation from concept to nationwide launch. Build test-and-learn roadmaps; scale winners with excellence in packaging, in-restaurant merchandising, and crew enablement. Performance, media, and digital growth: Oversee creative development, media strategy, and optimization across TV/CTV, digital, social, search, OOH, and influencer. Partner with Digital/Product, CRM, and Loyalty to drive acquisition, activation, frequency, and personalization. Champion measurement rigor: MMM, incrementality, A/B testing, and unified dashboards that link brand and performance outcomes. Experience and channel stewardship: Ensure brand consistency across restaurant experience, drive-thru, third-party delivery, kiosks, and packaging. Partner on store design/messaging, crew training materials, and operational readiness to deliver on the brand promise. Reputation and purpose: Partner with Comms/PR on brand storytelling, issues/crisis response, and social/community impact. Embed DEI, sustainability, and responsible marketing practices into brand activity. Team and agency leadership: Lead, coach, and scale a high-performing team of brand managers. Select and manage agency partners across creative, media, PR, social, and research. What You’ll Bring To The Table
12+ years of progressive brand/marketing leadership in QSR/fast casual, multi-unit retail, or CPG; experience at national scale required. Proven track record building enduring brands while delivering near-term traffic and sales. Expertise in integrated marketing, calendar/P&L management, and large-scale product launches. Fluency in digital growth levers: loyalty, CRM, app, delivery marketplaces, and performance media. Data-driven decision maker with strong command of testing, MMM, and translating insights into action. Experience influencing across franchised systems and field organizations. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; able to rally cross-functional teams. Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. Comp sales and traffic growth; market share gains. Brand health: awareness, consideration, preference, and distinctiveness. Loyalty and digital: active members, frequency, order mix, and incremental revenue. Campaign and promotional ROI; media efficiency and effectiveness. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $250,000 - $300,000. You are also eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
