Position Overview LinTech Global is looking for a candidate to join our team as a Cloud Engineer to provide support to the IRS‑CI client. The Data Center Information Services (DCIS) Cloud Support task enables the transition of legacy products into modern cloud‑based technologies and implements new cloud service initiatives. The Cloud Engineer provides subject matter expertise to design, implement, manage, and secure cloud infrastructure, ensuring that solutions align with portfolio business goals, comply with security requirements, and are fully documented for handoff to operations.
Location: 100% Remote.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, design, implement, operate, and maintain cloud environments leveraging AWS, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, Google Cloud, Nutanix, and other relevant platforms.
Provide expert‑level subject matter expertise and technical support throughout the engineering lifecycle.
Conduct audits of the technology portfolio to map enterprise capabilities and applications into appropriate cloud services.
Develop comprehensive end‑to‑end cloud solutions that integrate resiliency, security, performance, and compliance with operational requirements.
Define, implement, and maintain cloud engineering standards to optimize cost, accelerate deployment timelines, strengthen security compliance, and ensure business continuity.
Create and maintain complete and accurate system documentation, including Architecture Documents, Engineering Plans, Administrator Guides, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Communicate precise and regular updates to leadership on the status of assigned cloud initiatives.
Adhere to enterprise IT processes, including Cloud Front Door, Security Change Requests, Firewall Change Requests, and the ELC path, ensuring the timely completion of all compliance documentation.
Core Technical Competencies
Microsoft 365 Hybrid Authentication
Expert-level knowledge of authentication flows in hybrid environments, using Microsoft Entra ID.
Experience configuring Azure AD Connect for identity synchronization.
Implement Conditional Access, MFA, and risk‑based identity protection policies.
Demonstrate understanding of modern authentication token flows, certificate‑based authentication, and single sign‑on.
Microsoft Teams
Design, deploy, and administer Teams solutions in hybrid and cloud environments.
Configure enterprise features such as Teams Phone System, Direct Routing, compliance retention, and governance policies.
Integrate Teams with Exchange, SharePoint, and OneDrive while meeting compliance requirements.
Microsoft Intune
Plan and administer Intune for hybrid device management, integrating with Active Directory and Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
Deploy and enforce security baselines, compliance rules, and conditional access for mobile and desktop devices.
Implement advanced mobile device management and mobile application management policies.
Microsoft Exchange
Manage hybrid Exchange deployments, enabling coexistence of on‑premises Exchange and Exchange Online.
Migrate mailboxes, groups, and public folders with minimal disruption.
Configure secure mail flow, transport rules, compliance policies, encryption, and data loss prevention.
Cloud Infrastructure & Services
In‑depth knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and XaaS service models.
Demonstrated experience deploying and maintaining multi‑cloud architectures.
Expertise across security, identity, storage, networking, compute, databases, analytics, and integration layers.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent work experience).
7+ years of experience delivering enterprise‑grade cloud solutions in federal or large enterprise environments.
5+ years of hands‑on enterprise experience with Microsoft 365 in a hybrid environment.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid authentication, and identity integration using Azure AD Connect.
Proven expertise in Exchange hybrid management/migration, Intune device management, and advanced Teams administration.
Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP, IRS‑specific security policies) and federal security requirements.
Documented ability to create technical system documentation (architecture, SOPs, administrator guides).
Strong communication skills with both technical and executive audiences.
Clearance: Must obtain/maintain IRS MBI (Moderate Risk Background Investigation) Public Trust – High Risk.
