About the Role
Our client an AI + wet-lab biotech—seeks a VP of AI/ML to lead computer-vision and predictive-modeling programs that accelerate drug discovery. You’ll set the AI strategy, mentor a high-performing team, and partner with biology and engineering to productionize models from large-scale cellular imaging. (This is not a role at GQR; we are representing the client confidentially.)
What You’ll Do
Own the AI/ML roadmap; translate state-of-the-art CV, foundation models, and agentic AI into impact.
Build and validate models on in-house cellular image datasets; establish rigorous pipelines.
Partner with cross-functional teams to iterate models, guide data generation, and ship production solutions.
Lead algorithm development to map morphology/function and cell–environment interactions from images.
Drive projects from research question to executive readout and publication.
Hire, develop, and lead ML/data science talent.
What You Bring
PhD (or equivalent) and 10+ years in ML/AI; strong computer-vision background.
Experience with high-content imaging/digital pathology, bioinformatics, and statistics.
Track record of applied ML impact (papers, talks).
AI-aided drug design, cloud, or full-stack experience.
Compensation:
$240k-$250k + bonus + meaningful equity
